Over the last few years, you’ve probably heard me talk about TechStars or read a post about them in this blog. If you have, it will come as no surprise to you that I believe TechStars is probably the most unique and innovative mentorship program to help foster and support startups that I’ve seen in my career. That’s why I’m excited to announce that on April 21, Boise entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to come meet David Cohen (founder of TechStars) and Andy Sack (Executive Director of TechStars Seattle) and hear the TechStars story firsthand.
Applications for this year’s Seattle program recently opened up and it’s my hope that after hearing from David and Andy, we’ll have a few Boise startups apply for the ten slots in this year’s class. There’s a widely-held sentiment in Boise that there’s an awful lot of smart folks in town with great startup ideas who don’t have either the access to seed capital or qualified mentors to help get them off the ground. Here’s your chance. Alumni of the TechStars program have a remarkable track record of raising capital and their mentorship program is unparalleled.
The event will start at 6pm at Boise’s WaterCooler. Please spread the word. If you’ve recently started a company, are considering it, or know someone who is, I strongly urge you to come hear more about TechStars. I assure you that you’ll find it worthwhile. Looking forward to seeing you there!
