Hi Brian. The executive committee spent a lot of time debating this very issue. At the end of the day, nobody felt that there was enough critical mass in the state to focus on Bio. Every organization needs focus and we felt that the three areas we chose was more than enough to try and do well. This was reinforced by the results of the focus groups we conducted throughout the state.

Mark, I get it. I like it. But I'm curious about one thing: Noting the ITC's affiliation with BIO, why is ITC's mission focused on Information Technology, Agriscience, and Energy... why no mention of biotech, medical device, or other biological sciences that would also bridge these same sectors? By design? Or simply based on current players? Just curious about direction.

David, thank you for getting involved! I've heard terrific things about TheCORE and agree with you that there's some real synergy here. Count on the ITC to be a resource for TheCORE and I look forward to meeting you soon!

Mark--Your comments have obviously impressed and motivated many readers. It again illustrates that a winning attitude comes before a winning team. As a new board member for TheCORE, I had an opportunity to go to lunch with Jay and I am learning about and appreciate what ITC is working toward. Our organizations have similar objectives, motivations and drive that I think will lead to success in strengthening business in the TV. Best wishes. David

It's been very gratifying to work with you and everyone else on the ITC Doug and I'm optimistic that we can create an organization that will benefit many terrific entrepreneurs in Idaho. Thanks for all your hard work!

As an executive committee member, I can vouch first-hand that tech leaders throughout the state are giving their valuable time and energy, in the midst of launching and running their companies, to foster the development of the tech sector. Thanks to you Mark for capturing the essence of the ITC.

I hadn't heard that one before Robert but very fitting. Also, I don't mind so much that people are skeptical, but if you're going to rip someone in a public setting like the IBR or Statesman, at least have the courage to put your name on it. Doing it anonymously is incredibly chicken-shit and cowardly...

I am appreciative of people who are positive and working to make things happen. You could announce a cure for cancer and people would post anonymous comments tearing it down. "The little jackals may bark, but the caravan passes."

Ben, thanks for commenting. You're right, this is a very exciting and important development for the tech community in Idaho. Luckily we've got folks like you who get it. You're perfect example of how people who don't work for technology companies still understand the value of supporting these types of companies and their importance to our economy. Your leadership at Kickstand and Idavation speaks volumes. Thanks for all your hard work and support!
